Markus Oberle, CEO
Markus Oberle, was appointed as CEO on the board of BCCPL effective from 8th February’2014. He holds position of Chief Executive Officer for Indian operations of Vicat Group in India. He has re-joined Vicat in India business after his first tenure closing on Decemeber’2012.
Markus, an economist holds 36 years of wide experience in key managerial & Administrative functions in industries like Construction Materials, Food & Consulting. He started his career in 1978 with Arthur Andersen as an Auditor and Consultant located in Switzerland and US. During 1984-86 he has worked as Financial Controller with Swiss Food Multinational.
Prior to joining, Vicat group in 2004, Markus has served HOLCIM Group for 16 years since 1987 in different capacities. Markus has global leadership exposure and have worked as country head in Germany, Belgium, France, The Netherlands and CIS-countries (Moscow). In 2004, he has been appointed as CEO for Vigier Switzerland, a subsidiary of Vicat-Group having activities in field of Cement, Ready-Mixed Concrete, Aggregates, Precast and Waste Management.
In a career that spans over almost three decades, Markus possess strong skills in finance & business operations focused on improving productivity and bringing synergies in various business functions. He is recognized for his dynamic leadership and vision for the business. Under his leadership, various businesses have witnessed significant turnaround in its profitability.
In 2010, he has been appointed as Country Head for VICAT subsidiaries operations in India and also appointed as Managing Director for BCCPL. After serving his tenure in India he has been appointed as Board of Directors for Vigier Switzerland and served till January’2014.
Markus is widely recognized for his strong business acumen, people friendly nature, decision making ability and spirit of team building. His dynamic leadership and strong business knowledge partnered with depth understanding of India, its culture and people make him a successful business leader in India.

Anoop Kumar Saxena, COO
Anoop Kumar Saxena was appointed as Director on the board of BCCPL effective from 1st January’2013 and held responsibility of Managing Director of company on the board till 08-02-2014. Thereafter he has been designated as COO.
A Mechanical Engineer Graduate from MITS, Gwalior and Post Graduate in Industrial engineering & Process Optimization from National Institute in Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Powai, Mumbai has started career in 1985 with Lohia Sterlinger Pvt. Ltd.
Anoop holds a very strong experience of more than 27 years in cement industry. He started his cement professional career with India’s leading cement company ACC (a group company of HOLCIM, Switzerland in India) in 1986 and thereafter he has served various capacities for over three decades and has worked almost all parts of country. In his last tenure with ACC, he was spearheading as President of complete Karnataka operations of ACC (9 Mio Tonne Capacity) having two integrated cement plants with two split grinding units.
During his tenure, he has demonstrated unprecedented growth in plant operations and significant turnaround of various low profitable units has been achieved. Apart from plant operations he has vast experience in handling large projects and has been instrumental in erection & commissioning of “World’s Largest Clinker Production line” at Wadi during his tenure with ACC, Holcim.
Anoop has global leadership exposure and have undergone Leadership coaching at IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland as well as at ISB, Hyderabad. He also has Represented INDIA at YOKOHAMA for “green energy implementation in cement industry in India”, Japan. Also, have several important knowledge forums in India and abroad.
Anoop is widely recognised for excellent people management, leadership, decision making ability and team-building abilities. His dynamic leadership and passion for the business is recognized and acknowledged by his industry colleagues.
A versatile person with dynamic nature, strong business acumen and clear vision for business has strong belief that organizations cannot become result oriented unless people are fully engaged. He also believes in SPEED as his own value which is demonstrated often through his actions. Harish C Kamarthy, Whole-time Director
Harish C Kamarthy was appointed as a Director on the board of BCCPL effective from 1st Dec’2007. He in-charge for Bharathi Polymers and Aggregates (Mines & Rocks) Businesses Units of Bharathi group.
A graduate in Electronics & Communication engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, Mangalore University, with over 20 years of Managerial, Operations & Administrative Experience in Cement, Automobile, Infrastructure and Power Industries.
He started as Chief Executive Officer in Someswara Cements & Chemicals Limited, a Cement Manufacturing Company, from 1991-1994. From 1994 to 2000 he worked as Chief Executive Officer in M.G. Brothers, who were one of the large automobile dealers for TATA Motors, Bajaj 2 wheelers, Volvo heavy commercial vehicles and HYVA hydraulic tipping systems. From 2000 to 2007, he served as Executive Director in Sandur Power Company Limited, a 37.5 MW hydro electric power plant. He has been instrumental in setting up green field automobile dealerships, Hydroelectric power plants and executing other infrastructure projects in A.P. and Karnataka. He was also actively involved in the setting up of Bharathi Cement plant, Ad Star Poly Propylene laminated bag plant (first in India) and Aggregate/Sand manufacturing plant.
In a career that spans over two decades, Harish has been acknowledged for his vision and commitment. He is recognized in the industry for dynamic leadership and passion for the business. Under his leadership, polymers and aggregates businesses have witnessed significant growth over last 3 years.
J J Reddy, Whole-time Director
J J Reddy was appointed as a Director on the board of BCCPL effective from 16th January’2006. He holds responsibility of Projects, Alternative Fuels & Raw Materials and CSR function on the board. JJ is a post graduate in Agricultural Science (MSc) from ANGRAU, Hyderabad.
He has more than 14 Years of Managerial & Administrative Experience in the industry. He is well-known for his exceptional project execution skills & has played instrumental role in successful commissioning of Bharathi Cement Plant at Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh within stipulated time frame.
He has begun his career with execution of Hydro power Projects and has played instrumental role in implementation of Hydral Power plants at Amogha Power Projects (2*750KW) and Sandur Power Company Pvt. Ltd (3*7.5MW). Later 2006, with a vision to set up a cement manufacturing facility in native place, have gathered couple of cement professionals and convinced present minority stakeholder to invest and set up facility.
JJ is recognized for excellent people management skill, thereby building strong trust and confidence about company among the local communities and stakeholder. He plays instrumental in land acquisition and stakeholder’s management for the company.
Under dynamic leadership of JJ Reddy, over a period of last 2 years company could able to achieve the remarkable progress in utilization of Alternative Fuels in cement manufacturing process. He has great business acumen with clear vision for company and is playing instrumental role in growth of the company.
G Balaji, Whole-time Director
G Balaji was appointed as a Director on the Board of BCCPL effective 30th April’2010. He holds responsibility of Finance, Procurement and IT functions on the Board.
He is a Commerce honours graduate from Nagarjuna University with a fellow membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and holds very strong track record of academic credentials. He is also a cost & Management accountant having more than 20 years of experience in field of Finance, Accounts, Treasury and Management Accounting.
In a career spanning over more than 2 decades, he has wide exposure across the major sectors of Manufacture & Service, Viz., Textiles, Engineering, Chemicals, Multi-Media & Automotive, Event Management, ITES, etc. He has also had overseas exposure in Australia and has to his credit the graduation course wherein he has qualified in the Australian Tax laws and Corporate laws.
Balaji is widely recognised for his natural attitude of Go-getter, excellent people management and ability to handle taxing situations with ease. He loves to be competitive and compete with self to excel every day which make him to deliver best in tough times.
A Visionary leader is imbibing global approach in its systems and functions at Bharathi. He has played instrumental role in implementation of SAP (ERP) from very first day of operation, which rarely any company could achieve in India.
With strong analytical skills, sharp memory and wide perspective on business operations, he is spearheading the growth of Bharathi Cement Corporation Limited through cost effective operations management to remain competitive in market.
M Ravinder Reddy Reddy, Whole-time Director
Ravinder Reddy was appointed as a Director on the board of BCCPL effective from 1st September’2008. He holds responsibility of Sales & Marketing function on the board.
Ravinder is an Honours Graduate in Commerce from the Osmania University and have also completed is MBA in marketing from Berhampur University.
He has held various important positions spanning over 22 years, in various companies including Priya Cements, Bagalkot Cements and Penna Cements. In his earlier associations, he had played an instrumental role in introducing HDPE & Paper Packaging against conventional Jute Packaging, thereby bringing new dimensions in cement industry.
Ravinder, has played an instrumental role in placing brand Bharathi in premium segment from very beginning and achieving many fold growth in competitive environment since last 4 years. Under his leadership BHARATHI BRAND is acquiring position of market leader by promoting superior Quality, Technology & best technical Support to its customers.
Jacques Merceron-Vicat, Director
Jacques Merceron-Vicat is President of the Board of Directors. He joined the company in 1962 when he obtained his Engineering degree from the École Spéciale des Travaux Publics. Vicat was founded by his grandfather, Joseph Vicat, in 1853. He was later succeeded in 1889 by Maurice Merceron-Vicat, who married Suzanne Vicat, one of the daughters of Joseph Vicat. In 1904, Joseph Merceron-Vicat took over the company, followed by André Merceron-Vicat in 1960.
Jacques Merceron-Vicat learned his craft as an operations engineer and participated in the construction of the Créchy cement plant, which was inaugurated in 1968. Until 1972, he contributed, along with his father, André Merceron-Vicat, to managing the company's alliances, acquisitions and mergers in the cement industry of France, with plants in Saint-Egrève, Chambéry, Voreppe, Bouvesse, Pont-à-Vendin, Xeuilley. This enabled Vicat to become the third largest cement company in France and paved the way for the growth and development of ready-mix concrete. Parallel to these developments, the Group established its presence in the south eastern region of the United States by acquiring the Ragland plant near Atlanta.
Appointed Managing Director in 1973, Jacques Merceron-Vicat promoted a policy of modernization, energy savings research and the automation of cement plants while at the same time protecting jobs during a marked decline in the construction industry. Since 1984, the year he took over as President, he has been relentlessly pursuing restructuring efforts of production equipment and developing the Group's business at the international level.
In 2006, Jacques Merceron-Vicat launched the 2010 Performance Plan, whose principal objectives were to increase the capacity of the Group's cement production by 50% by 2010, and to improve profitability by reducing production costs.
In 2008, Jacques Merceron-Vicat ceded the Managing Director position to Guy Sidos, who joined the Group in 1999 to start a new profession after a distinguished naval career.
On March 7, 2014, the board appointed Jacques Merceron-Vicat as honorary chairman. ...
Dominique Guy Louis Sidos, Director
Guy Sidos was born on September 13, 1963 in Ozouer-le-Voulgis (77). In 1996, he married Sophie Merceron-Vicat, eldest daughter of the president of the Vicat Group, Jacques Merceron-Vicat.
At a young age, Mr. Sidos was very passionate about the sea; he was fascinated by the work of his father, François, in the Forces Navales Françaises Libres - FNFL (French Free Naval Forces). In 1984, he graduated with an Engineering degree from the Ecole Navale (Naval School) and became a marine officer.
In 1985, he trained with the French cruiser Jeanne d'Arc (R97) and was second officer of the Dumont d’Urville until 1987. A specialist in arms and sonar (sound navigation and ranging), he held chief positions in the "Sapphire" and "Amethyst" submarines from 1987 to 1992. Mr. Sidos was also commander of the Guépard building school. A student at the military school in atomic energy (1993), he became second commander of the Emeraude (1994-96), a nuclear submarine, before being appointed commander of the Pearl nuclear submarine in 1997. At the age of 33, he became the youngest commander of a nuclear submarine in France. His experience has equipped him with exceptional expertise in team management, project leadership, and crisis management.
In 1999, he joined the Vicat Group as a plant engineer and in 2001, took over the managing director's position of the Ragland cement plant in Alabama. He was appointed Managing Director of National Cement in 2002, a company that consolidates the American business activities of Vicat. In 2004, he returned to France and became Deputy Managing Director for the Vicat Group.
Guy Sidos was appointed Managing Director after the Board of Directors meeting on March 7, 2008. Jacques Merceron-Vicat, aged 70, and who had been President since 1984, gave up his position as Managing Director but remains Chairman of the Board of Directors.
On March 7, 2014, Guy Sidos has been appointed as the new chairman of Vicat group, in addition to his current position as chief executive officer.
